The Special Education Department in RFSD is dedicated to educating every student and doing our best to meet their individual needs. "Together with family and community, all students learn to meet the challenges of life." This is the district motto and the Special Education Department stands behind this by offering programming that honors and respects the diversity of all learners.
The Special Education Department works as a cohesive unit that values teamwork and professionalism. We are committed to serve our students to the best of our ability by staffing our programs with teachers that understand and value the diversity and unique needs of each student and their family.
The current goals in our department include writing IEP's that are needs based, providing services that meet the needs of each individual student, and growing and learning so that we are better able to meet the needs of our students.
Our current commitment to the students identified and who receive services is to provide the best programming possible so that they are able to meet the challenges of life and achieve their goals. Together, as a team, family, teachers, students, and service providers stand behind the commitment to work together to provide the best opportunity for all students.
